Fleet & Warehouse Manager
This position is essential for ensuring smooth warehouse management and fleet coordination, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and collaboration. Responsible for assisting supervisors by purchasing requested material/equipment, maintaining inventory control, operating machinery (such as Forklift), on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of company product(s). This role requires a proactive approach to organization, maintenance, and safety to support field operations and business continuity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse Management:
- Oversee and maintain inventory control, ensuring accurate stock levels for materials and equipment in both office and yard.
- Organize the warehouse and yard layout to maximize space utilization and improve operational efficiency.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries.
- Implement warehouse processes and inventory tracking systems to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed to move and organize stock.
- Ensure compliance with forklift safety protocols, conducting regular inspections and maintenance of forklifts, and providing safety training for all forklift operators.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure stock levels are aligned with project requirements, preventing shortages.
- Oversee the disposal or redistribution of obsolete or damaged inventory in accordance with company policies.
Fleet Management:
- Collaborate with both the Senior Fleet Manager & local Superintendent to coordinate vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and inspections.
- Manage regular vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance to ensure the fleet is operating efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with daily vehicle reporting through the Fleetio App by field teams, addressing any vehicle-related issues promptly.
- Manage rental equipment needs, coordinating with suppliers for vehicle and equipment pickups and drop-offs, while tracking usage and costs.
- Monitor fleet expenses such as fuel, maintenance, and repairs, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to transportation regulations, including vehicle documentation and licensing.
- Optimize fleet deployment and usage by tracking vehicle utilization and addressing any inefficiencies.
Safety Oversight:
- Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure warehouse and fleet operations comply with industry standards.
- Provide support to the Safety Department by providing Safety to staff for warehouse and field teams, including forklift safety and handling hazardous materials.
- Conduct safety inspections of the warehouse, yard, and fleet operations, identifying potential hazards and taking corrective actions, while reporting all observations to the Safety Managers, Herlyng Segura and Juan Abdel-Aziz.
- Oversee safety compliance for subcontractors, ensuring proper Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documentation.
- Investigate and document incidents or accidents within warehouse or fleet operations, maintaining records for compliance and informing safety improvements.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other relevant safety regulations.
Working Conditions and Physical Efforts:
- Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
- Requires operating forklift, and at times may require operating or managing other machinery.
- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and include the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Involves both office work and physical activity in the warehouse and yard environments.
- Working in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
- This position requires the ability to perform inspections and safety checks both indoors and outdoors in potentially challenging environments.
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- At least 1 year(s) of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 3 year(s) similar construction and electrical experience.
- Mechanical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Experience with electronics/computers/networking.
- Strong computer skills (CAD, MS PROJECT, EXCEL, WORD, etc.)
- Experience with state Department of Transportation, or construction experience is a plus.
Compliance Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test.
- Must possess certifications and trainings relevant to the role.
- Must demonstrate eligibility to work in U.S.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.
