Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Vascular Access Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this patient-centered role, you will specialize in the assessment, insertion, care, and maintenance of vascular access devices for adult and pediatric patients across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, bedside nurses, and ancillary staff, you will perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV starts, midline and PICC line insertions, and central line assessments while adhering to evidence-based standards and hospital policies. The Vascular Access RN will be responsible for evaluating vascular access needs, selecting appropriate devices, educating patients and families on line care, and serving as a clinical resource on infection prevention and catheter-related complication reduction. You will closely monitor patients for signs of complications, troubleshoot line performance issues, and document all assessments, procedures, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record. This role also contributes to quality improvement initiatives, participates in staff education, and supports the development of best practices in vascular access throughout the organization.
