Salary: From $30/hr

Summary

Provide temporary LVN/LPN coverage for school clinics, performing delegated nursing tasks and basic clinical care while following IHPs and escalation protocols.

Job Overview Seeking dependable LVN/LPNs for oncall substitute roles across CFISD. Substitute LVNs/LPNs support campus health services by delivering routine care, administering medications, and assisting with student monitoring during staff absences. Candidates should be adaptable, calm in clinical situations, and experienced in pediatric or outpatient care.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and provide routine nursing care per standing orders and IHPs.
• Perform basic assessments, first aid, and wound care; escalate to RN as appropriate.
• Document services in district-required format and maintain clinic logs.
• Communicate with campus staff and parents/guardians about student health issues.
• Signin/out at campus front office and submit timesheets/invoices if contracted.

Typical schedule/setting:

Oncall assignments across campuses; shifts scheduled to match school hours; availability for shortnotice coverage required.

Supervision/reporting:

Works under campus RN or administrator oversight; reports to CFISD Health Services as needed.

Documentation & compliance:

Follow FERPA/HIPAA confidentiality; TBON scope of practice; maintain certifications and background clearance.

Requirements:

• Active Texas LVN/LPN license.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year clinical experience; pediatric or clinic experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Ability to pass Texas fingerprint criminal background check and complete TEA preservice affidavit (SB571).
• Good documentation and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility for travel between campuses.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior school clinic or pediatric experience.
• Experience assisting with delegated clinical procedures.
