Sr. Compliance Manager - Gaming/Betting (CBS Sports)

CBS Digital is seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist to help establish and oversee our compliance framework for sports gambling, iGaming and prediction markets. This role will ensure all gambling-related advertising, promotions and business initiatives adhere to applicable state, federal and international regulations, as well as responsible gaming and consumer protection requirements. The Senior Compliance Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholdersincluding Partnerships, Legal, Sales, Product, Marketing and Editorialto mitigate compliance risks while supporting business objectives. This is a pivotal role in ensuring CBS Digital maintains compliance in the evolving sports gambling, iGaming and prediction markets landscape.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Establish and Lead Compliance Framework: Establish policies, procedures and best practices to ensure compliance with U.S. gambling laws, including state-by-state regulations, advertising standards and responsible gaming guidelines.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Monitor and interpret evolving gambling, iGaming and prediction market regulations, ensuring CBS Sports' advertising, promotional campaigns and affiliate agreements remain compliant.
  • Advertising and Marketing Compliance: Review and approve all gambling-related advertising, promotions and partnerships to ensure compliance with state-specific and/or international requirements, FTC guidelines and responsible gaming messaging.
  • Affiliate and Commercial Agreements: Oversee compliance for CPA agreements with sportsbook, casino and prediction market partners, ensuring adherence to licensing and disclosure requirements.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and address compliance risks related to gambling advertising, marketing and promotional campaigns, including responsible gaming disclosures, fair advertising claims and consumer protections.
  • Team Leadership & Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments to implement compliance controls, ensuring alignment with legal and business objectives.
  • Responsible Gaming Initiatives: Ensure adherence to all responsible gaming requirements, including self-exclusion policies, age verification and required disclosures in jurisdictions where CBS Digital operates.
  • Regulatory Reporting & Recordkeeping: Maintain proper documentation of compliance approvals, regulatory reviews and gambling-related advertising initiatives, ensuring records are available for audits and regulatory inquiries.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in gambling compliance, operations, or regulatory affairs with a casino, sportsbook or gambling regulatory agency.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, law or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. sports betting, iGaming and prediction markets regulations, including international and state licensing requirements and advertising restrictions.
  • Proficiency in compliance and workflow management tools such as Confluence, SharePoint and Google Docs.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficient attention to detail and ability to translate complex regulations into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Well-developed project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a compliance team a plus.
  • Familiarity with gambling advertising regulations across multiple states and countries, including responsible gaming disclosures and promotional limitations.
  • Experience with licensing and regulatory filings related to gambling affiliates or marketing partnerships.

Hiring Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
