Qualifications
• Acceptable driving record, current 6 or 10-year DMV printout
• California Commercial Driver’s License with Class A
• Current Medical Card
• Must comply with applicable DOT, OSHA and CDL and any other regulatory required certification including physical exams and Pre-employment and Random Drug/Alcohol testing
• Driving: 3 years (Required)
• Team Player
Responsibilities
• Drive truck to and from jobs as directed and with no deviation of permitted routes (usually within a 100-mile radius of office base)
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, basic safety, and operational vehicle inspections before and after each trip, fill out forms daily and submit them to office personnel
• Perform daily /routine maintenance such as greasing, checking fluids, fueling, etc., and /or mechanical repairs of assigned truck as skill and time allows
• Report maintenance and repair needs verbally and in writing to mechanics and supervisor
• Document and notify mechanics and supervisor of any repairs self-performed
• Complete inspection reports, driver logs, bills of lading, proper permits, and other forms to account for pick up and deliveries, and/or other paperwork or documents as required or directed and submitting to office personnel
• Employee must be able to exercise sound judgment apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, communicate with foreman and dispatcher, exercise safe work practices always
• Wear all required and assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as applicable, appropriate, as required
• Additional hours, including Saturdays, as required to meet the needs of our business
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be flexible with duties, be cooperative and take initiative
5 years verifiable experience hauling heavy construction equipment loading & unloading (i.e. Backhoes, excavators, Skip Steers etc.) • Knowledge of driving laws, regulations and restrictions for trucks and heavy equipment operation. Always drive trucks in safe and professional manner, always wearing safety belt and being courteous to others. • Must be able to demonstrate ability to load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment unloading (i.e. Backhoes, excavators, Skip Steers etc.) and materials via tractor-trailer rig to deliver and pick up equipment, related tooling, and components at various job locations properly and safely. • American Bobcat & Backhoe Service, LLC is an “at will” employer.
