Bike Shop Operations Manager / General Manager

Compensation: $75000+ per year (plus bonuses)

Location: Sedona, AZ (relocation considered)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bike Shop Operations Manager / General Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a high-volume, top-rated bicycle and e-bike business.

This is a hands-on operator role, not a desk-only management position. At the outset, this position mirrors the responsibilities of the current owner-operator and requires full engagement across all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Run daily shop operations from open to close
• Handle keys, security, cash, and deposits
• Oversee inventory, ordering of bikes, parts, and tools
• Manage staff scheduling, performance, and standards
• Ensure fleet safety, mechanical readiness, and service quality
• Personally handle customer interactions when needed
• Maintain systems and processes that consistently produce 5-star customer experiences
• Take ownership of solving problems as they arise and doing what is required to keep the operation running smoothly

Required Experience & Skills

• Bicycle mechanical experience is required
• Prior experience running or helping run a bike shop, service department, or retail operation
• Comfort taking full responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks
• Strong work ethic and willingness to be hands-on
• Ability to enforce standards with staff and customers respectfully and consistently
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
